TPA3220: FAULT/OTW voltage at open condition of TPA3220

Dear Sirs,

My customer asked us about FAULT/OTW voltage at open condition of TPA3220.

He measured voltage of FAULT/OTW pins of tpa3220 at open condition .

As a result, the voltage was 5V.

Although the description below is on page 24 of the data sheet, I think that it contradicts the measurement result.

Is the output voltage of the FAULT / OTW pin really 3.3 V?
Please let me know the output voltage in the open state and the way to output 3.3V.
In addition, please let me know the FAULT / OTW pin operation included internal circuit.

Hi hasebe-san,
Did you measure on the EVM board? The FAULT and OTW pins are pulled up to High on the EVM board. Did you try to remove the pull-up resistors? Please refer to the TPA3220 EVM user's guide: www.ti.com/.../slau756a.pdf www.ti.com/.../slau754.pdf

I already know that evm is pulled up to 5V with an external circuit.

My customer says that even if the FAULT and OTW pins of TPA 3220 are in the OPEN state, 5 V will be output.

If this is correct, I think that VOH max of FAULT and OTW pins' output is not 3.6V.

It is stated that these pins are internally pulled up.

Please let me know where to supply this internal pull-up resistor.

Also please let me know the output voltage when the terminal is open.

Hasebe-San,

My apologies, I was just able to check with design and you are correct, the internal pull-up is 5V, not 3.3V. The datasheet is being updated.
