TPA3131D2: Ask for schematic review

Part Number: TPA3131D2

Hi,

Would you please help on shematic review? Also I want to confirm following things:

1. Configuration of automatic fault shutdown and Mute controls are correct?

2. Is FaultZ open drain output?

3. In figure2, what is the meaning of 1.4 second? Does it mean when device detect short current and and SDZ is directly connected with FaultZ, then faultZ outputs low signal . The device need more than 1.4 second to shutdown?

4. If there is a special design to suppress pop sound?

Thanks!

  • Hi Jeff,
Usually we recommend customer to use larger than 100uF bulk caps for PVCC decoupling to achieve low ripple on the powe supply. For this application, the output power seems very low, 22uF seems OK - but the larger, the better. Make sure the inductors L3031/L3032 in the output filter has enough rated current to hold the max output current. Can't see 0.68uF caps after the inductors in the picture, make sure it's not missed in your SCH.
    FaultZ is open drain pin.
In your SCH, SDZ is connected to the FAULTZ pin. Then you don't need to care about the 1.4s requirement.
The pop noise during power-up and power-down is usually caused by the imbalance in the input cuicuit. Please make sure the input circuit on the differential input is perfectly matched.
    Best regards,
    Shawn Zheng
