TLV320AIC3104: Does TLV320AIC3104 can output single-end signal with Left and right channels?

Part Number: TLV320AIC3104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV632, OPA1678

Does TLV320AIC3104 can output single-end signal with left and right channels? I can find the differential output signal with left and right channels connection as following, but I can not find the single-end output signal with left and right channels connection.

  • Amelie,

Any of the following outputs can be single ended outputs: HPLOUT, HPROUT, HPLCOM, HPRCOM.

The output routing of the AIC3104 is very flexible, any of those four outputs can also be left, or right outputs.

  • Hi Steve,

Thanks for your help. What about LEFT_LMO/LEFT_LOP/RIGHT_LMO/RIGHT_LOP?

Can these four pins connect as the following three ways?

    Such as change to SE:

  • Amelie,

To be clear the Left and Right_LOP/M outputs are not class-d speaker outputs. The three output configurations you are showing are all Class D output configurations. There is no need for an LC filter on the output of these. The output impedance is 10k, and the amplifier is class A/B. The LPF that is on the board is to remove any out of band noise from the DAC.
I'm not sure I understand your second drawing... the capacitors you added are identical to the ones you removed...?

If you need SE outputs, just use the HPOUTs. you could have 4 single ended outputs using the HPOUTS.

  • Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your quickly help.

Do you means that all of the part 1 and part 2 power amp is Class AB? And part 1 is SE and part 2 is differential connect?

  • Amelie,

You clearly have the datasheet as you are taking screenshots from it... please take a look at the first page:

All of the outputs are Class A/B on the TLV320AIC3104.

  • Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your reply.

Can we use the following connection to realize SE instead of using HP output?

Or should we add DRV632 to transfer differential signal to signal end signal, and then output to T-BOX_R/ T-BOX_L?

  • Amelie,

Is there a reason why you don't want to use the HPOUTs?

The Right and LEFT LOM outputs shouldn't go directly to gnd after the Capacitor. They would need a resistor roughly equivalent to the input resistance of the T-BOX but note that you will sacrifice performance.
It would be better to use the HPRCOM/HPLCOM or use an opamp to convert differential to SE.

  • Hi Steve,
TLV320' s output will connect to another AM/FM Radio and Audio chip and this chip does not support HP signal input or differential input.
I recommend customer use DRV632/INA165x to convert differential to SE. Do you have any better opamp to recommend?
    Thanks for your help.
  • Amelie,

Why would the AM/FM Radio chip not support the SE HPOUT but it supports the DRV632 out? the OPA1678 would be a far more cost effective device, is there a reason you decided to use a line driver?

    best regards,
