Linux/TLV320DAC3100: TLV320DAC3100

Part Number: TLV320DAC3100

Tool/software: Linux

Audio DAC team

For the chip DAC320dac3100,  the power supply has a recommend power sequence as the datasheet mentioned:

The TLV320DAC3100 has been designed to be extremely tolerant of power supply sequencing. However,
in some rare cases, unexpected conditions and behaviors can be attributed to power supply sequencing

it means that ,the chip has a extremely tolerant of power sequence except some rare cases, what is the rare cases?

  • Hi,

It is recommended to follow the suggestions from data sheet:
    - Separate digital and analog activity
    - Ensure each supply is fully powered up and stable to power up the next supply
Although if not possible, the most important thing during power-up is to release the pull-down on Reset signal at the very end, once IOVDD and DVDD are completely powered up and stable. This is to ensure that the device is initialized to a known state.
Sometimes it could happen that devices is not able to initialize correctly because Reset pin was ramp-up along with IOVDD/DVDD. This could happen if IOVDD or DVDD are too slow or something similar.
