[FAQ] PCM9211: Simultaneous conversion of S/PDIF to I2S AND Analog line-in to I2S audio streams

Part Number: PCM9211

Can PCM9211 support simultaneous conversion of S/PDIF to I2S and Analog line-in to I2S audio streams?

Best regards,
Ravi

  • YES. PCM9211 has DIR to handle the S/PDIF to I2S conversion & ADC block to take the line input and coverts the same into I2S stream simultaneously.

DIR block supports up to 12 single-ended S/PDIF input pins. Two of the 12 inputs (RXIN0 and RXIN1) integrate coaxial amplifiers and the remaining inputs are designed to support standard optical modules. One of the inputs is routed to DIR block which converts the incoming S/PDIF audio input stream to I2S output.

As far as the Line input goes, it will be routed through the ADC block and the output is available at one of the Auxiliary output.

    Best regards,

    Ravi
