TLV320AIC3212: Analog interfaces for IP Phone Design

Hi,

We intend to use TLV320AIC3212 in an IP Phone design (based on Sitara AM5728) with the following analog interface:

- a headset to be connected to the headset block (IN1L, HPL, HPR, MICBIAS_EXT, etc).

- a handset mic connected on IN2.

- a hands-free mic connected on IN3.

- a hands-free mono speaker (8ohm, 0.3W) connected to SPKLP/M)

Please confirm if these connections are OK.

In addition we have a handset speaker rated at 0.015W and 150ohm impedance. Could you please suggest on which analog output interface of TLV320AIC3212 this can be connected?

Thariq,

The handset speaker could be connected to the Receiver output.

The handsfree speaker seems to be underpowered. note that even if you are providing 3.6V to the SPKVDD the output power would be 0.72W. You would need to be really careful to not damage that speaker.

your mic connections are all fine.

Hi Steve,

Thanks. I have changed the hands-free speaker to 800mW (1W max) rated one.

Could you please suggest alternatives to TLV320AIC3212 which can support all the above mentioned analog interfaces (with connection details, if possible)? Looks like there are no drivers available for this device from TI.

Thariq,

We have devices like the TLV320AIC3107, which can do most of this, and it does have a linux driver that was developed for linux kernel 2.7 (I believe) but TI does not support this driver.
