TAS5805M: How to modify the number of feedback channels

Part Number: TAS5805M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5805

Hi ti,

I'd like to ask how to modify the number of feedback channels for the TAS5805M。

Thanks.

  • Hello Ju Sheng,

Could you please elaborate on this question? I am not sure what you mean by feedback channels (are you referring to GPIOs?)

    What is your application?

    All the best,

    Carolina

  • Hi Carolina,

I am doing loopback test. When the audio of 8-channel recording is output from sdout of TAS5805m, the number of channels is wrong.

    thanks.

  • Hi Sheng,

Can you specify your question in detail?

    1. What does 8-channel here mean? As you know, input of TSA5805m is I2S or TDM. Do you mean TDM?
    2. If it is I2S, which only has two channel, am i right?
    3. If it is TDM, has you configured TAS5805M as TDM format. Please refer to: TAS5805M datasheet --> Register Maps --> search TDM

We will look into this issue after understanding your questions.

    Regards,

    Alix Wan.

  • Hi Alix Wan,

First of all, thank you for answering my question.

    1. Input of TSA5805m is TDM, and I have configured TAS5805M as TDM format. But the speaker has  Mono output.

    2. when I Input of TSA5805m is I2S,and configured TAS5805M as TDM format. The speaker output normal.

So what can I do to get the Input of TSA5805m is TDM and the speaker output to be normal.

    Thanks.

  • Hello Sheng,

Please see this guidance of how to configure TDM for TAS5805.

Then, please follow the guidance below:

     1563.TAS58xxTDM16 Configurations.pdf

    P.S. note 0x98 is I2C address, for TAS5805, it is 0x58 or 0x5a, 0x5c, 0x5e.

If it still does not work for you, please share your configuration to me. Like, TDM4? TDM8?, your configuration of TAS5805(.ppc3 file), detailed description of how you test it.

    Regards,

    Alix Wan.
