TLV320ADC3101EVM-K: How to run the EVM

Hi team,

I tried to run the TLV320ADC3101EVM and followed the steps from the guide. But anyway it seems I cannot run the board properly. Below is a screenshot of the EVM GUI, looks like the connections are ready but I didn't see the initial interface for further operation. What could be the problem?

Hello George,

Can you check a couple of things?

1. Check in the device manager if the USB_MODEVM shows up under the NI-VISA USB Devices and Sound, video and game controllers?

2. Check that all jumpers and switches are in default positions.

3. Have you restarted computer after installation of software?

4. lastly, if the GUI still fails to load properly, I would suggest re-installing the software.

The GUI looks like it is detecting the EVM which is good and does not look like a driver error but it never hurts to check. Let me know if you make any progress.

Hello,

Here is a very similar E2E thread that may also be helpful. Please install in "Administrator" mode and also run it in that mode as well and if that doesn't work try restarting the SW.

Hi Collin,

Another question. For the output of the EVM, is there only the I2S signal that can be monitored? Is there access to the recorded audio file?

Hi George,

When the EVM is plugged into the computer it will enumerate as a USB Audio device that you'll be able to select as the input device in an audio recording program, such as Audacity.

Hi George,

Here are a few images that should help as well, open the EVM, select "Recording" and then load the "On Board Microphones Recording" script. In the recording SW of your choice, select the "USB-AudioEVM" option (or similarly named) as the recording device.
