Part Number: LMX2594

Hi there,

Going off this post to start: https://e2e.ti.com/support/clock-and-timing/f/48/t/695651

I was curious on the best way to simulate the LMX2594 in an IBIS-based clock buffer tree simulation. Specifically, should I be using the IBIS model in order to generate the input, or should I instead be modeling it as some kind of ideal, AC-coupled voltage source with parasitics. Please advise, thanks.

The IBIS model can be used to model the inputs and the outputs.  That being said, I would not trust it for modeling the high frequency outputs.  You might find this attached document is more useful for understanding the behavior of the outputs.

As for the inputs, it has some of the package models for the inductance and capacitance in them.

Also, if you are trying to model any sort of performance, you might find some of our other tools such as the PLLatinum Sim (ti.com/PLLATINUMSIM-SW) useful.

    Hi Dean,

Thanks so much for the attached file. It looks like it answers my questions pretty well perfectly. We have been using PLLatinum for generating effective additive phase noise profiles in other simulators. Thanks for supplying this missing piece.
