LMK04816: LMK04816/28

Part Number: LMK04816
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5400, DAC5682Z, , LMK04828

Hi Team,

I develop board with 10 x DAC5682Z & 2 x ADS5400.

I looking for clocking solution, I saw LMK04816/28 but it will be great if you can suggest your recommendation.

Skew need to be lowest as possible, does the skew are for 2 close outputs (for example out0 & out 1) or for 2 extreme outputs (for example out0 & out11)?

Jitter lowest than 1psec.

Freq of 1GHz

For ADS5400 the clock and the trigger need to come together.

If you think about different solution than the attached diagram please offer.

Thanks,

Shlomi

  • Hello Shlomi,

Either the LMK04816 or LMK04828 would work for your application.

Skew is always better for the two adjacent outputs vs. two extreme outputs. However some non-adjacent clocks can still be close in slew.

When you say you need better than 1 ps (RMS?) jitter. In what integration range? Do you have a phase noise plot and frequency of your reference?

Can you tell me more about how the trigger is generated?
