LMK61E2-125M: Connecting to cdclvp1102rgtt

Per the OSC data sheet, the LVPECL Vout, Diff PP is 2xVod = 2x1200mv max= 2.4Vpp. The input of the buffer CDCLVP1102rgtt LVPECL is Vin Diff pp 1.5V max, per it's data sheet. I was planning to connect the two per Figure 19 of the CDCLVP1102 data sheet.

Per the data sheet the OSC output exceeds the input of the Buffer. Am I reading this wrong? It would be odd that both devices being LVPECL can not be connected. How should I connect the two devices? Thank you, Tony

  • Hi Tony,

    I recommend to add series resistors (Rs) near the LMK61E2 driver outputs to form a voltage divider with the load termination (50 ohm/side). Place the Rs on the driver side after the 150-ohm LVPECL biasing resistor.

    Vid = Vod*50/(Rs+50) (single ended swing)
