Hello,

I have a memory system to be operated at a clock frequency of > 1GHz. ( A square wave generator with an output frequency of > 1GHz).

Can you help me with the proper chip selection?

I tried to search. I got PLLs LMX2572LP.

Looking at the datasheet, it looks overkill.

Can you help?

Venu,

Just about every part we make can do 1 clock output with >1 GHz.

You might want more criteria to narrow the search, like cost, die area, ect.

Consider the LMX2571 or the LMX2531 family.

Also, a lot of devices in the CDC family might be good for low current can cost applications.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess CDCE62005 will be suitable for my application.

Should I go for this or is there anything simpler available?

Hi Venu,

CDCE62005 is fine. CDCE62002 is cheaper with less outputs.
