LMK00334-Q1: Help to check LMK00334-Q1 EMI issue

Part Number: LMK00334-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK00334

HI Team,

My customer is using clock generator LMK00334-Q1 and input a 100MHz clock and generate 2*100MHz output clock. After our EMI test, there are 1100MHz and 100MHz harmonic from this signal source. Is this a side effect of this IC, and is there any prevention for this issue?

Or there are any other part could be a better choice ?

Moreover, we found out that the termination resistors is different with design guideline. Please also  help to check whether is any drawbacks or not.

  • Hi Helios,

The LMK00334 is just a clock buffer not a clock generator, and there is no EMI problem to worry about. The interference probably comes from the clock source that the customer is using.

Could you point to me what "design guideline" that you are quoting? Figure 19 shows a HCSL termination commonly used in industry.

To select clock generators, please go to the selection guide: www.ti.com/.../products.html
