CDCLVD1216 VIN, DIFF clarification

Dear Sir/Madam,

Page 5 of CDCLVD1216 states that VIN, DIFF "differential input voltage peak-to-peak" is 0.3V (min).

Q. Is VIN, DIFF the same as VID?

The reason why I ask is that most LVDS drivers including CDCLVD1216 have VOD specified as 0.25V (min)

meaning that the CDCLVD1216 is difficult to interface.

Hi Grant,

CDCLVD1216 can accept LVDS levels with no problem. Standard compliant LVDS drivers have min. differential output voltage peak-to-peak swing of 250 mV x 2 = 500 mVpp, which is greater than the VIN, DIFF spec of 0.3 Vpp (min) for CDCLVD1216.

Hi Alan,

Just to confirm that VIN, DIFF specified in the datasheet is 2* (VIH-VIL) as shown in the diagram

ie. VID is 0.15 (min) 0.8V (max)

I can confirm VIN, DIFF is equivalent to 2 * VID = 2 * (VIH-VIL).
