CDCM1802 - LVDS Input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM1802, LMK00306

Hello,

My customer have some questions about CDCM1802.

They want use CDCM1802 with LVDS input.

[Q1]

Input voltage swing between IN and _IN is listed as follows.

(A) VIN (Input voltage swing between IN and _IN, See Note 1) = 500mV(min), 1300mV(max)

*Note 1 : Is required to maintain ac specifications

(B) VIN (Input voltage swing between IN and _IN, See Note 2) = 150mV(min), 1300mV(max)

*Note 2 : Is required to maintain device functionality

I think the specification of LVDS input is (B). Is it right ?

[Q2]

In the case of LVDS input, are there ac specifications to degrade ?

What are the specifications ?

Do you have some data how much deteriorates ?

[Q3]

Should they assume it LVPECL input?

Best Regards,

Hiroshi Katsunaga

  • Hi Hiroshi-san,

Note 1 is required to maintain AC specifications. Note 2 guarantees functionality but not AC specifications. If the LVDS input is smaller than 500 mV, then some of the ac specifications might not be met (I am not sure which ones are not met and to what extent they are likely to degrade). The customer should stick with input swing > 500mV to guarantee AC specifications

  • Hi Arvind-san,

Thank you for your fast response.

    I understood your comment.

I will tell your comment to my customer.

They will use LMK00306 as a driver of CDCM1802, so they can change the level from LVDS to LVPECL.

    Thanks a lot !
