LMX2594: Exposed die pad not dimensioned

Part Number: LMX2594

In the datasheet for this part, the exposed die attach pad under the device does not include the dimensions of the pad. I contacted support about this, and the support rep pointed me to another TI part with the same pin-count and package code, and felt that this part would be the same. I pointed out two other instances of TI parts that have the same pin-count and package code, and different sizes of die-attach pad, so he said I should inquire here on the forum to get a firm answer. So, what is the size of the exposed metal die-attach pad on the LMX2594?

Noel, I hope you will forgive me for asking, but are you sure that is the correct drawing for this device? The only reason I'm asking is because this drawing shows the thermal pad much larger than the document I got from TI direct support. The discrepancy has me worried a bit. I will say that the direct support rep was not sure he had the correct drawing, so when I questioned him, he referred me here. This sure would be a lot easier if TI would NOT use the same package code for parts that have a different size exposed thermal pad.

Noel, Thank you for confirming the information. I didn't intend to offend, it's just that I received conflicting data from TI. When I contacted direct support, I was sent a document that showed the exposed pad as 2.7mm square, so I wanted to be very sure of this new information. After looking at the example layout shown in the datasheet, it confirms the information you sent, showing the exposed pad as 4.5mm square. It would be good if TI would update the datasheet to include this detail.

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your suggestion. We are improving our system so in the future, the datasheet will come with all the mechanical dimensions automatically.
