LMX2595: Modeling RF outputs in single-ended mode?

Part Number: LMX2595

Are any models or S-parameters available for the RF outputs in single-ended mode?

Can some of this be captured via the EVM?

  • We don't have formal S parameter models for this.  In general, I would use the inductor pull-up followed by resistive pad to be sure.

That being said, I did attempt to measure the output impedance.  Here's what I did with a board with 50 ohm pull-up.

    1.  Use a stub tuner on the output and find the setting that maximized the output power.

    2.  Measure the impedance of the stub tuner.

    3. Assume the part impedance is the complex conjugate.

    4.  I also had the board without the device, so I measured this as well

    5.  I then mathematically calculated the implied buffer impedance without the pull-up. Note I got some negative values for impedance, so I don't fully trust the results, but look more at the magnitude.

    See attached table.
