ADS1298 Inputs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298

Hello Guys!

The maximum differetial input range is 4,8V with a Gain of 1 and a reference of 2,4V, but what is the maximum voltage a single analog input of the ADS1298 can handle without the risk of getting damaged?

kind regards

Sebastian

  • Hi Sebastian,

The maximum voltage allowed on each analog input is listed in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table on page 2 of the datasheet. This rating is provided with respect to the power supplies used for the device.

Also, just to clarify, the maximum differential input to the ADC is +/- VREF, not 2*VREF. If the absolute value of the differential input is greater than the reference voltage, the ADC will output a code that corresponds to +/- full-scale. Please refer to the Data Format section of the datasheet to see how the output codes map to the full-scale input range.

    Best Regards,
