ADS127* output Settling time

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1278

ADS1278, Settling Time. The datasheet specifies Settling time for 3 modes: High Speed, Low Power and High Resolution, but it does not even mention "Low Speed" Mode setling time. Could you please provide this information ? Thanks

  • Hello Matias -
The settling times for the different modes are shown in the spec table on page 4 (Under 'AC performance', just above 'Voltage Reference Inputs'). The Low Speed mode was inadvertently left out of the text in the apps section (as you noted).
  • Thanks Greg, yes, I did find it there.

Just to make sure I understand the definition of "Settling time":  this would be the time it takes to settle after an input step, right ? Does it depend on the step amplitude?

For instance: Clock at 1MHz, Low Speed Mode, that gives me a fDATA of 390.625Hz (1Mhz/2560). Input: step from 0V to 5V, will it take 194.56 msec to settle in Low Speed Mode (76/390.625) ? What if the step is 0.5V ?

    Thanks again
