AFE5801: is SDOUT will get tri-stated when ADC SPI is not selected?

Part Number: AFE5801
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5808A

Hello,

We need to know that, when ADC SPI interface is not selected (SENn is deasserted) then What will be the state of SDOUT pin? is this pin become tri-stated?

Regards

  • Also i want to know in one case,

When we have enabled the read-back mode, then we deselect the AFE5801 device, then what will be the state of SDOUT pin, will it be tri-stated in this scenario ?

    Regards

  • Hi Tarang,

Thanks for using TI AFE5801 device.

We will look into your question and reply to you soon.

    Thank you very much!

    Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

  • Hi Tarang,
    How are you?
For using AFE5801 device, when we don't want to use SDOUT output pin
to read back, we will need to set the register
    <REGISTER_READOUT_ENABLE> to be "0"
    by setting register Address=0x00, Data=0x0000
Then SDOUT output pin would be set to low level all the time
(because there is no register data being sent out.)
But SDOUT won't be in tri-state mode.
There are other devices (such as AFE5808A) which could set its SDOUT output pin in tristate
(high impedance) mode when READOUT_ENABLE is disabled.

    Thank you very much!

    Best regards,
