AFE4404: AFE4404, How to interpret the I2C data on lab view ?

Part Number: AFE4404

We are a group of students working on our senior design project. We are working on developing a pulse oximeter and we decided to use AFE 4404 to obtain the data. Unfortunately, our budget won't allow us to get AFE 4404 EVM and we tried to request a free sample from TI but the request was rejected. We were able to read I2C packets from the AFE 4404 via a COM port into LabView. Can you help us on how to interpret or convert the I2C packets into the accurate desired readings (any documents or suggestion on how to do that). Thank you

  • Hi Omer,

When you read the data registers (registers from 0x2A to 0x2F) the content will be the digital code representing the input.
This digital code can be converted into voltage using Table 3 of the datasheet.
Also, the AFE gives the raw data continuously and its user's part to implement some kind of algorithm that processes the raw data to give out parameters such as heart rate or SpO2 level.

If you are looking for some kind of algorithm then I am so sorry to say that we don't support algorithms as we are no expert in this field.

If you have some doubts about the AFE itself, we will be happy to help.

    Regards,
