ADS7828: ADS7828, COM, GND Connection

Part Number: ADS7828

My inputs to the ADS7828 come from two circuits - one with digital GND and the other with analog GND. The two grounds are connected at a single point but not at the IC.

What is the best practice for the ICs COM and GND pins in this case?

Hi Martin

It is recommended to connect COM pin to analog input reference ground.

So "COM" connects to Analog ground.
Do I connect "GND" to Digital ground?
My digital ground and analog ground are tied together but not at the IC. Is this acceptable?

Hi Martin

You can connect and "COM" and device GND to analog ground.

When you connect analog and digital ground together, Please make sure you have a low impedance connection between analog ground and digital ground.
