ADS1298: Suggestion for an appropriate TI made microcontroller

Part Number: ADS1298

Hello,

I am intending to use the ADS1298 for measurement of ecg using 12 leads. I also wanted to interface other peripherals for BP and single lead ECG along with this. I was wondering if I could be suggested the most appropriate Microcontroller available with ti for this purpose. Please suggest the appropriate part.

Thanks and Regards

  • Hi Abhinav,

We would need more detail in order to suggest a processor. All you need for the ADS1298 is an SPI port, so that part is easy. As far as the processor goes, you need to decide what sample rate you'd be operating the ADS1298 at, and if you intend to do any CPU based filtering of the data. You would also need to figure out how the 'other peripherals' are going to interface with the microcontroller. I'll move your post to one of the processor forums to get input from their side.
  • Hi Abhinav,

As above answer, the SPI interface is a simple requirement. You need provide more information. Give you a check list:

    1. Flash and RAM size?

    2. Pin numbers (GPIO numbers)?

    3. Sample rate?

    4.  Other peripherals? LCD? Timer? RTC? I2C? Comprator? etc.

    5. CPU based filtering? floating point process?

There have some MSP430 SOCs with integrated 24 bit ADC and segment LCD which is designed for ECG application.  Please search in below page.
