AFE4400: Artifacts in SPO2

Got the SPO2 and HR values by using AFE4400, but facing the Artifacts problem. So how to get proper spo2 and HR in condition of movements of hand. How to overcome Artifacts?

    Hi Yogesh,

    Can you please elaborate the artifacts? Are the due to motion or a slow drift.
    In most of the case there is no knobs in the AFE to remove these so it is recommended to handle this in algorithms with additional data from other sensors such as accelerometer.

    Artifacts- Movement of hands, fingers. I think it is due to motion.

    We have interfaced AFE4400 to MSP430F5529 and CC3200Mod only. if there is movement of finger - there is a lot of difference in the spo2 and pulse rate value. So will you please provide some solution over that. How to stabilize the SPO2 and Pulse rate value ?

    Hi Yogesh,

    If due to motion, the separation between the skin and the sensor changes this will result in change in the received signal.
    One way to tackle this kind of problem is to have on-board accelerometer and use its data to cancel from the received PPG signal.
