[FAQ] Delta-Sigma EvaluaTIon Software: No Register Maps are shown in Device Region

Part Number: ADS1261EVM

Hallo,

my Deta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTion shows no Registermaps in Device Region. Status says Hardeware Connected Ready and on Console i see Device ID and FW iD.

EvaluaTion was installed first and then the Device Package and the Driever then manually.

My System is Windows 10 and it is running wthout Admin rights. The installation did the Admin for me.

Am I right, that the Register Maps should be shown automatically if the device is recognized?

Could be there a Problem with rights if it is not?

Thank you for your help

  • Hi Martin,

Welcome to the TI E2E Forums!

There is a linking issue with the Delta-Sigma Evaluation software when the main application is installed by one user and the device package is installed by another. This can be resolved by changing the User Directory setting...

    1. Determine where the device package was installed. Likely it was installed under the admin account at C:\Users\<admin userfolder>\Documents\DSEvalSW\Devices
      1. If this location is not accessible to your user account, you may need to have an admin copy it to a public folder
        OR
      2. You can update the registry setting (by running REGEDIT from the command prompt) to change the device package installation directory and then re-install the device package. The registry key that sets the device package installation directory is:
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Texas Instruments\Delta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTIon Software\DeviceLocation

      3. Copy or save this path. This is the parent folder for where device packages will get extracted.

    1. Open the Delta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTIon application, and click the File tab, then select Options, as shown below:

    2. Update the User directory to point to the new parent folder where the device package was installed. If you changed the registry key (in step 1b above) and then reinstalled the EVM Device Package, then copy the DeviceLocation registry key value into the User Directory textbox.

    3. Click OK to save the new User Directory setting, and then close and relaunch the Delta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTIon application. It should now look in the correct folder for the device package information.

  • Hallo Chris,

Thank you for your help. The problem was that the Device Pakage has to be installed within an admin account. If it is installed in a user account only with admin rights, there is no new device folder in documents.

    Best regards

    Martin
