ADS1220EVM: ADS1220emv MCU firmware

Part Number: ADS1220EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO, ADS1220

Hi! i have one ADS1220EVM board, it seems that the USB interface is not working, R16 is burned and when you plug the board, the virtual COM is not created. I can see pulses in the USB inteface, but may be is blocked in bootloader mode (R16 is connected to the PUR of the MCU).

There is a way to recover the MCU? If not, can I have the firmware to download to a new replacement MCU?

best regards

Diego

  • Hi Diego,

Welcome to the E2E forum!  I'm sorry to here you are having issues with the ADS1220EVM.  At any time was the EVM operational?  Do both the 5V and 3.3V LEDs light up?  Can you verify the jumper settings for me?

    Best regards,

    Bob B

  • Hi Diego,

In my previous response I neglected to mention that the binary file is included with the ADCPro plugin for the ADS1220EVM.  The binary file is located in the folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\ADCPro\plugins\evm\ADS1220\fw

    Best regards,

  • Thank you very much for the reply.
D1 and D2 are light on, the MCU has 3v3 and 1v8 and the crystal is oscillating at 12 Mhz. After reset i can see a burst of clocks in SCLK test point.

I think that the PUR pin is damaged, that´s why i want to replace the MCU

  • Hi Diego,

If you can see the burst of SCLKs then the micro is not in BSL mode and is attempting to configure the ADS1220.  When you plug the EVM into the USB, does the Device Manager show unknown device?  Perhaps the driver did not install properly.  Which version of MS Windows are you using?

    Best regards,

    Bob B
