Linux/PCM3070: Looking for a PCM3070 Linux Driver

Part Number: PCM3070

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

I have a project integrating a PCM3070 with a Davinci McBSP. Wondering if anyone can recommend where best to look for linux driver source for a PCM3070.

There are codec drivers for the  TLV320AIC3254 which appears to have similar features with/ MiniDsP, I2S, multiple inputs, etc.    linux/sound/soc/codecs/tlv320aic32x4.c

Any recommendations where else to look? Thanks, Tom

  • also we're using the 3.2 kernel

    Hi, Tom,

Sorry for the delayed response, the driver you mention for the AIC32x4 should work fine with the PCM3070 as these devices share similar register configuration. There is no specific driver for the PCM3070.

Hi Diego, Thank you for the response, it is helpful,  I do have one follow-up question

My project is using an OMAP-L138, every related EVM I have found uses the McASP for the codec interface. I am looking for a code example to leverage that uses the McBSP instead of the McASP. I understand there are also differences between the OMAP McBSP, Davinci McBSP, McASPs, etc.

Any suggestions on where to look would be welcomed.

    Happy New Year, Tom

    Hi, Tom,

Thanks, Happy new year as well!

Regarding your question, I am afraid from the audio device perspective, we don't have a proper document with the information you are requesting, maybe you can ask for some guidance on our OMAP Processors Forum in e2e.
