I know this sounds lame, but, what is the 64k I2C Serial EPROM (24LC64) used for on the ETLV320AIC3254EVM?
As I understand it all programming and configuration on the AIC3254 is performed via the I2C interface (or SPI) to write registers (many many registers) including custom programming to the MiniDSPs (1024 each). The 3254 has to be reloaded at each power ON, is the EPROM used to hold the entire program (or any of it)? I am planning on having a small microprocessor as the I2C master but it will not be able to store the 3254 program.
Thanks,
Brian Weir
Hi, Brian,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
We have two EEPROMs: one is used to hold the TAS1020B start-up code, and the second (on the daughtercard) is used to hold information used by PurePath Studio GDE.
