I'm working on driver for aic3104 and was wondering as to what exactly is the functionality of Page 0/Register 11: Audio Codec Overflow Flag Register.
Under what conditions do the overflow bit gets set for ADC and DAC.That is what input condition will make the overflow to occur.?
Also can this be used to determine whether the signal level is out of range from the expected input/output?
The overflow flags in Register 11 indicate that the filters have experienced an overflow. This is due to digital clipping on the input or output side. Yes, these flags can be used to indicate that a gain change or change to the level is required.
Thank you for the reply.
I wanted to know the best way to get this overflow condition.
I have tried giving progressively high inputs and checking the register 11 for overflow.
Any input on this is greatly appreciated.
