On the DAC output of this part we have a 220uF AC coupling cap. We inadvertently shorted the output of this cap to ground (AC short) Could this damage the DAC output stage? Is there any protection on the DAC output for an AC short situation?
Our initial investigation would seem to conclude we damaged all the PCM2902's that were shorted.
Sorry for the delay. We are investigating this for you.

I am requesting a response. Thanks.
There is no integrated short-protection on the DAC output of the PCM2902B.
