    Hi.

What is the difference between PCM3070 and AIC3254?

Ok, AIC3254 has one extra pin for MICBIAS, any more?

I searched that they are compatible in http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/audio_converters/f/64/p/109567/388711.aspx#388711

PCM3070 was released in February 2011, and use PPS home audio (v5.40 Build 1 Rev. 13225 from 20 May 2011).

AIC3254 was released in September 2008, and use PPS portable audio (v5.95 Build 1 Rev. 17483 from 26 Mar 2012).

This question was made yet in http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/audio_converters/f/64/t/155831.aspx, but if PCM3070 is more new, why PPS is more old and has fewer functions than PPS portable audio (echo cancellation, ANC, …)?

    Hi, L1ndb3ck,

PCM3070 is intended for applications like SoundBars.

AIC3254 is intended for mobile applications like handsets (basically, ones with microphones).

How they are intended for specific destination, if they are equal?
They can be used for anything.
    What is the difference?

Technically, these two are the same, with the same hardware specs (DSP, memory, cycles, ...), memory map, ...

Initially I used the PCM3070 in my project, but PPS (home) has few functions to use.

Then I switched to AIC3254 and I loaded the same script for PCM3070, it worked the same way.

I created a script in PPS (portable) with special functions to AIC3254 worked ok, but when I load this script in PCM3070, it don't work.

This practice conclude the following: from PCM3070 to AIC3254 without problems, but the reverse is not possible.
