PCM4104 Reference Inputs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM4104

Hi,

What is the current draw of the PCM4104 reference inputs? I plan to use a voltage reference but I am not sure if I need to buffer it or not.

  • Hi, Gary,

Those pins are discussed on page 14 of the data sheet in the section titled, "VOLTAGE REFERENCES". Unfortunately, we do not have any information beyond what is published in the data sheet.

  • Ok well that isn't much help. I notice on the EVM schematic for the 4104 there is an option to use a separate 5V regulator for the references. That seems to imply that they need a fair bit of current, more than an reference ic could provide for instance.

So there is no other recommendations for these references?

It seems to me that these references would be fairly critical to the noise performance of the part and there would be more of a suggestion as to what they require.....
