TLV320AIC23

Guru 13485 points

I have a TLV320AIC23 EVM I would like to use for testing I2S functionality of my board.

In order to configure the device I need the DASCCT_AIC23 application which runs a GUI.

The application is not on TI’s website, can you please send it to me?

Will it run on WIN7?

  • Hi Eli,

the AIC23B software is no longer supported. It was never ported to Win7.

If you have the hardware, i would recommend looking for a different I2C master.

Your other option would be to get a different EVM such as the AIC3104 or AIC3204. The software for both of these is available online.

  • Hi

    Thanks for your feedback.

I have the TLV320AIC3107EVM. Can this be use also?

  • Yes, the AIC3107 should work fine.

  • I am using the TLV320AIC3107-EVM.

I am supplying I2S signals from my processor and I would like the CODEC to output is to HP (connected to speakers)

I have made the following changes from the default configuration:

Connected my I2S DOUT to J14-7 on the USB-MODEVM

Connected my I2S CLK to J14-3 on the USB-MODEVM

Connected my I2S CLKLR to J14-5 on the USB-MODEVM

On the Evaluation tool I have configured the following:

Audio serial data mode – I2S mode

Audio serial data word length – 32bit

    Bit clock mode – continuous

    BCLK,MCLK – Slave mode

HP output driver – AC- coupled

I cannot hear anything on my HP output.

Please advise what should I change in order to get my setup working.

  • Need urgent help

  • HI Eli,

You must first configure the DAC to play audio. There should be a quick start tab with some radio buttons to select playback. Once this has been done, you need to do the following on the hardware:

    1. You need to turn off the I2S from the TAS1020 by moving SW-2-4 to the right.

    2. You still need an MCLK. For this you can either use the MCLk from the TAS1020, External Source, or you can use BCLK. If you use an external source, you should Move SW-2-8 to the right and SW-2-5 to the left. If you want to use BCLK, you need to go to the Clock tab and change CLKDIV_IN from MCLK to BCLK.

    Hope this helps.
