PCM2912A with an external clock

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2912A

Hi All

Our customer is going to use PCM2912A with an external clock.

Is there any requirement about the timing between Power-on-reset of PCM2912A and starting to supply an external clock?

best  regards,

Akio Ito

  • Hi Akio,

There seems to be no requirement on reset other than the part will not be released from reset until 700 us after Vbus hits 2.5V, but it is recommended to have the external clock running when the PCM2912A is powered.

  • Justin-san,

    Thank you for the answer.
However our customer asked additional questions with a measured waveform shown below.

Q1. In the upper  timing, may an error occur?
They afraid of an error caused audio noise.

Q2. May Windows 7 fail to recognize PCM2912A in the same timing?

    best regards,
