USB Driver for TLV320AIC1110/09/03_PBS_EVM via USB EVM interface board

I've bought evaluation module kit TLV320AIC1110EVM-K & downloaded the software from a TI page (in slac563b.zip).    Installation in accordance with the instructions ended when it could not find the driver.   I then went "off-piste":    I manually navigated to the folder usbfirmware_v0304_portable/dfu_driver (containing file dfu-w2k-2-w8.inf).  This appeared to install fine and the PC is happy.  When the EVM is plugged in, the PC device manager shows DFUUSB (with no yellow warnings).  However D2 (USB active LED) never lights.    The PC GUI opens fine and for a few seconds it says it is connected.      Then the device connected turns red and a dialogue appears offering retry (not successful).  There was another .inf in the unzipped folder but only that one that said it was compatible with the EVM. I also tried looking in slac540.zip to try to find another driver but did not fine one.

I've search the forum and found a link about reviving EVMs in the TLV320AIC3xxx series... do you think I should try this on my TLV320AIC11xx EVM?

PC is XP, with admin privileges.  Have tried this on three such PCs.   One was fresh, the other two have previous NI installations (which stopped working when this EVM installation was attempted).

  • Hello Ian,

Sorry for the late response, you can try the procedure indicated in the wiki page you mention because this will program the firmware in the EVM's EEPROM. The GUI should recognize the EVM after this.

Please let me know if you have any problem with the firmware installation.

  • Hello Diego,
Thank you for your helpful response. I will certainly give it a go. Please could you confirm that
http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slac450 is the correct firmware for my TLV320AIC1110EVM-K ?
(ie not slac563b which I think was for a different EVM).
    Thanks,
    Ian
  • Hello Ian,

Slac450 is the complete software for the  TLV320AIC1110EVM-K. Sac563b is a software used to install the firmware to the EVM's EEPROM by following the steps of the previously mentioned wiki entry.
