Hello,

We would like to use the PCM5121 DAC in SPI software control mode.

In the datasheet it is written that the PCM5121 requires a system clock to operate the digital interpolation filters and advanced segment DAC but is it also required to enable access and configuration of the SPI registers?

Our concern is that our I2S clocks (SCK, LRCK and BCK) are coming from a video receive system and may be absent when no video is present at the input.

Hi, Corentin,

I believe you either need to have clocks or the PLL running. My colleague who can verify this is out of the office for the holidays at the moment.

I will ask him to verify when he is back.

Hi Corentin,

Sorry for the delay, but yes the SPI will work without SCK, BCK, LRCK or PLL running.
