i found AN082 on the TI website for 2 way audio communication in CC1110 devices....from that application note...i came to know about I2S and TLV320AIC3105 working together in transmitting digital audio samples from over the air....i ve read the whole application note and the provided software....but my application needs beg to differ from the one provide...i will try to put it straight and simple as much as i can....and then you guys may suggest possible solutions....
i want to generate I2S samples from a CC1110 module....convert those digital samples into analog audio signals using the codec TLV320AIC3105...the feed that audio signal into a wireless modem(some random wireless modem other than TI that takes audio input and sends at the other end) and receive the same audio signal at the receiver side and then convert that audio signal into I2S samples using the codec TLV320AIC3105 which is fed to another CC1110 module....]
the thing that i havent been able to clarify even after reading the codec TLV320AIC3105 data sheet is that i whether the I2S samples be generated continuously all the time???
i want I2S samples to be generated only when a certain event occurs in the CC1110 module.....and hence the codec should only generate audio signal when a valid I2S sample is fed to the TLV320AIC3105 codec.....and at the other end i want TLV320AIC3105 to generate valid I2S samples only when the TLV320AIC3105 receives that audio signal from the other codec.....
in other works i want to use I2S as a serial path that only generates data and sends at the other end based on a certain event....not continuous stream of analog audio data sent from one board to another.....i want some order here....i want a serial link just like UART.....the only difference here is that i ve to use that audio data path in the wireless modem since this is the only path available...besides both UARTs on my CC1110 are committed else where in other applications and they are not available...so that lead me to employ that I2S peripheral....
i need your recommendation whether is should use the TLV320AIC3105 or not since i ve to place an order accordingly....if not TLV320AIC3105 then what suits my application needs....
