TLV320AIC3262 when not using headset

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3262

Hello,

Working on the schematic for the TLV320AIC3262.  We are not using the headset, can leave no connect the HVDD_18, and ground MICDET? Is there a proper way to terminate the headset power and signals?

Additionally, can GPI2 be left floating if not used?

VBAT is only for measuring battery voltage, so if I don't need it, can leave it non connect, correct?

Finally, can unused DINS be left floating? We are only using DIN1.

Thank you,

JC

  • Hi JC,

The HVDD_18 must be brought up per the "Device Initialization" section of the TLV320AIC3262 Application Reference Guide. So it cannot remain floating.

Analog inputs and outputs can be left floating if unused.

Digital inputs (e.g. GPI2, DINs, etc) can be tied directly to ground to save power, although it is not required. Digital outputs can be left floating.

Connect VBAT to the same voltage as SPK supplies.

Note that GPI3 and GPI4 are the I2C address pins. Make sure these are terminated properly (both grounded = 0011 000 i2c address).

    Regards,

    J-
