PCM9211 frequency issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM9211, TAS5715

Dear All,

i'm having a strange behavior on my PCM9211. All it's working fine, but the problem is the following:

if i choose my optical (RXIN2) or coaxial digital (RXIN0) and i play some music or i put them in pausa all works fine (this mean that i have a LRCK of 44.1KHz, BCK of 2.8MHz and a SCK of 11.3MHz). If i remove the connector the PCM9211 gives me a LRCK of 2.56KHz, BCK of 163KHz and a SCK of 655KHz).

All the relationship between the clock are ok (Fs, 64*Fs and 256*Fs) but the clock are to low.

We use on our board an external resonator of 24.576MHz.

Any idea of the problem?

Let me know.

Thanks.

Silvio.

  • Hi Silvio,

What output are you looking at, and when you unplug the connector, is that both connectors, or just the one you are transferring to the output? Is this only while its disconnected you get these clocks (LRCK of 2.56KHz, BCK of 163KHz and a SCK of 655KHz) or even if you plug the connector back in?

  • Hi Justin,
    thanks for the reply.

I'm looking at the Main Output Port.
In our system from the Main Output Port we go to an audio amplifier (TAS5715) via I2S. And from the audio amplifier direct to the speakers.
So i unplug the input connector that comes from a digital audio source.
When i unplug this connector on the lines that go from the PCM to the TAS i get these clocks (LRCK of 2.56KHz, BCK of 163KHz and a SCK of 655KHz).
If i plug the connector back in the clocks are fine (LRCK of 44.1KHz, BCK of 2.8MHz and a SCK of 11.3MHz).
