Failure Modes of TLV320AIC23B

I am not sure I am in the correct forum.  Please let me know if I should repost this somewhere else.

I am working with a TLV320AIC23BIPW CODEC and I have a few questions regarding testing this asset and how it fails.

1) What are the typical ways that you notice a CODEC similar to the TLV320AIC23BIPW fail? In other words what are the typical modes of failure for these types of devices (complete failure-no output, degraded performance, etc.)?

2) If there are ways that the device could degrade in performance instead of a complete failure where no outputs are generated, what kind of performance degrades could be experienced (Reduced Gain, Added Harmonic Distortion, etc.)?

3) Is there any way that the device could fail where Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) could be impacted but other signal characteristics such as Gain remain within spec? For example, could a bit get stuck high or low in the CODEC that would create large differences between adjacent samples and ultimately cause increased harmonic distortion?

Thank you very much for your time and help with these matters.
