Hi,

Our system requires interfacing Bluetooth module audio to and audio mixer using I2S interface. The Bluetooth module support only 8KHz sampling rate with 16-bit data width over a 24/32-bit frame (I2S format). The mixer will support sampling rates from 32KHz onwards. For this we are planning to interface these modules through SRC4184. The BT module will not be sending the data continuously and this depends on the BT paired device. The mixer expects a continuous stream of data on the I2S and mixer will act only as slave over the I2S bus.

Please suggest if SRC4184 can be used in this scenario.

Hi Manesh,

How many channels do you need to convert? Each I2S interface can handle 2 channels (left and right). If you only need two, left and right, then I would suggest going with the SRC4192.

Our requirement is to mix digital audio from 5 devices (Bluetooth modules). Each device have Data out and Data in I2S interfaces. The mixed data will be fed back to the Data in I2S interface of each device. The mixer will support sampling rate of 32KHz onwards. But the devices will work in 8KHz sampling rate. So we need a converter. We need 5 I2S interfaces up conversion and other 5 down conversion.

Hi Manesh,

Yes, the SRC4184 looks like the best option. You will need 3 SRC4184s to meet you design requirement.

Hi,

The SRC channel A input is configured as master, to generate LRCK and BICK with 32kHz Fs and 24-bit I2S format. The LRCK is generated properly. But instead of 24-bit it is generating 32-bit per channel. So LRCK is 32kHz and Bit Clock is 2048kHz. Please suggest a method to generate 24-Bit I2S format as mentioned in the data sheet.
