PCM1864 - Sampling Frequency

Hello,
I have a question about PCM1864.

SLASE55A specifies that Sampling Frequency is "32 kHz to 192 kHz" in the Table-1 of the Page-3.
Cannot I use 24kHz?

And SLASE55A specifies that Sampling Frequency is "8kHz, 16kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz and 192 kHz" in the Table-10 of the Page-33.
Can I use other frequency?

Hi Daisuke,

Yes you can run the PCM186X in slave or master mode at 24 kHz, in fact any frequency between 8 kHz and 192 kHz can be used with the PCM186X. The difference in the data sheet tables is because the data sheet minimum performance numbers are only guaranteed for 32 kHz to 192 kHz sampling rates.

Hi Daisuke,

For 8 kHz to 31 kHz, we do not guarantee that the PCM186X will meet the minimum SNR or THD specs in the data sheet. The part will function correctly, but say at 8 kHz sampling frequency, it might fall a few dB below the minimum SNR.
