The customer want to find the replacement of PCM1704. This IC is applied to the MR system. Which IC can repalce PCM1704?

IS PCM1795 OK?

Hi Mickey,

Yes the PCM1795 could be a suitable replacement, as could others in the PCM179X family. Depending on their need for performance, any EQ/filtering needs, as well as clocking, the PCM5XXX family might also be an option.

Hi Mickey,

PCM1704 is R-2R DAC. Now doesn't exists on the market R-2R DAC with similar parameters. All Delta/sigma DACs will always have worse sound than PCM1704 which was in my opinion best DAC ever.

Best option: PCM63 (mid-high), AD1862 (best bass, and good mid-high), PCM1702.
BUT! 48 khz sampling rate (384 khz much, glitch)
