PCM2903C application desgin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2903C

hello,

I am using the PCM2903C for my new design, and i need to use 2 types of headsets connected to it:

1. headset with 4.4K ohm microphone (type WP-30113-000 by KNOWLES ELECTRONICS) and a 8 ohm speaker (type P35KT08-W by VECO VANSONIC).

2. headset with  150 ohm microphone and a 1K ohm speaker (military handset type H-189/GR by SONETRONICS).

I need to switch between those two options with some kind of a switch.

Please advise me what type of audio amplifiers should i use for those mic's and speaker's ? what kind of impedance matching should i use? what kind of switch should i use?

thank you very much

nimrod

  • Hi Nimrod,

Could you give us more details about what you want to design? Do you want to reach specific voltage levels? Output power level for the speakers?
Perhaps you could look for a solution using opamps to get rid of the impedance matching. Regarding the switch between options, a multiplexer could fit there?

  • Hello Ivan,

thank you for your response, and sorry for my late reply.

i was thinking on maybe doing something else:

instead of switching between two mic's and speaker to the same Left or Right inputs/outputs, is it possible to use the left input/output for one set of mic/speaker and the right input/output for one the other set of mic/speaker ?

    thanks again
