12V to 3.3V buck controller for TLV320AIC3204

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3204, LM1117, TPS51225

Hello,

I'm planning to use TLV320AIC3204 dsp. and in the datasheet, the recommended current supply be more than 150mA.

I'm currently using a 7.8V~12V power supply so linear regulator like lm1117 has a thermal problem.

So I thought TPS51225 was one option to use 3.3V for AVDD and use 5V with an LDO 1.8V for IOVDD. but the TPS51225 LDO has a max 100mA current output. Is there any reference buck controller to be used with TLV320AIC3204 When using high supply voltage?

Thanks

  • Hi, Brian,

Since we are only supporting the audio devices, I just recommend to use a buck controller with the specified characteristics of the codec datasheet. You may take a look at the compare window of the TPS1225. This window contains multiple options of controllers: www.ti.com/.../compare

Please let me know if you have any other specific question of the TLV320AIC3204.

    Best regards,
