What I2C settings do I need to use the line outputs on the TLV320AIC32 ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC32

I am using a TLV320AIC32 which has the differential line outputs connected to an external amplifier TPA6120A2DWP.

Originally I had the TLV320AIC32 configured to use the headphone outputs, but now I would like use the line outputs.

I tried setting page 0 / register 41 to 0x50 (0b0101 0000) so that:

  • left DAC output selects DAC_L3 path to left line output driver
  • right DAC output selects DAC_L3 path to right line output driver

but this didnt work.

How do I configure the TLV320AIC32 to use the differential line outputs ?

The spreadsheet attached shows the exiting configuration I am using.

  • Hi, John,

Actually, this would be the same procedure than the headphone outputs. We always suggest to use the DAC_L1 lines for better performance. The DAC_L1 line is routed to a mixer. This mixer has an internal filter that reduce noise.

Could you try configuring DAC_L1 path, please? Then, could you configure page 0 / registers 82 & 89? Finally, could you power up the line outputs with page 0 / registers 86 & 93?

Please let me know if the problem persists.

    Best regards,
