TLV320AIC3104 EVM CLock and ADC/DAC Configuration?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3104

Hello,

I'm having difficulty getting the ADC-DAC path working on the EVM. I've gone over the user's guide and DS but I'm still at a loss for how to properly get this path working.

Can you please provide some more details on what needs to happen to get this working?

Thank you,

  • Hi, Michael,

Could you provide more information about the application that you are planning to configure in the EVM? Could you describe the inputs, outputs and blocks to be used? If my understanding is correct, you're trying to make a loopback between ADC and DAC, right?

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
  • Hi Luis,

The default settings were used for the most part.

If there is a step by step instruction on how to pass signal from the ADC to DAC and to the line and headphone outputs, that would be very appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • Hi, Michael,

You would need to follow these steps to configure a loopback from the ADC to the DAC in the TLV320AIC3104EVM:

    - Disable USB I2S in SW2 of the USB-MODEVM INTERFACE board. This will ensure that the TAS1020b I2S lines are disabled.
    - Connect DOUT pin to DIN pin.
    - Configure the BCLK and WCLK as outputs (page 0 / register 8).
    - Configure the ADC path and DAC path to send and receive data through the I2S lines.

You should be able to pass signal from ADC to DAC after these steps. The TLV320AIC3104 needs to be configured in master mode (BCLK and WCLK as outputs). So, these steps ensure that the device will be configured correctly.

Please let me know if you have questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
