About AIC3254's AGC and noise cancellation

Hi All,

My customer is evaluating AIC3254, now there are several questions,

1) Path is mic --> IN1/IN2 --> Mic PGA --> ADC--->line out

2) when speaking loudly to Mic, is there any chance to reduce input voice by AGC?

3) Set AGC Max PGA---Lowest，and AGC Noise Threshold--highest, but the environment noise still exist. Any better way to do the noise cancellation?

Hi, Bruce,

Effectively, it is possible to reduce input voice by the AGC. This feature can be programmed from -5.5dB to -24dB relative to a full-scale signal. Additionally, the AGC noise threshold will eliminate sounds below the configured gain. This feature doesn't eliminate environmental noise. For these cases, it would be necessary to configure the miniDSP. There are environmental noise compensation algorithms that increase the intelligibility of clean speech in noisy environments.
