Codec Control w. TLV320AIC3120EVM

Hi,

TLV320AIC3120EVM connected to USB (PC w. W10, language is Finnish and Finnish keyboard settings). In TLV320AIC3120EVM two LEDs D1 and D2 lights up.

When I run the Codec Control, I get an error: "'680.0' is not a valid floating point value.". I set the language to English (US), but the problem is still there. CodecControl software seems to be rather old, year 2010-2012. Is the problem in firmware or in Codec Control software? Could you please help to get TLV320AIC3120EVM module to work!

Could you provide details about how the PC recognize you EVM? Could you send some pictures about the Device Manager and Playback Devices? This will be useful to have a better understanding of this issue.

Hi,

The failed operation flow is simple:

1. At first I connect TLV320AIC3120EVM to USB. LEDs D1 and D2 are ON.

2. Then execute CodecControl.

3. I encounter the floating point error right away the CodecControl is executed (look at Fval.PNG).

4. When error window is closed by pressing Ok, CodecControl leaves the state like in picture Empty.PNG

Hi, Vesa,

It seems that there's a problem on the EVM side. Do you have captures about your device manager? How this device is being recognized?

In these cases, we have a "revival" procedure that can be used to re-configure the EVM. Please take a look at wiki article below. In this case, step 16 ("remove-miniEVM.exe") should be omitted since it is a miniEVM.

Hi,

I tried the "revival" procedure, but wizard 'Found new Hardware' never appeared. But in Devices and Printers in the Control Panel shows that drivers are OK (look at attached pictures). LEDs D1 and D2 lights up, but CodecControl don't work.

Hi,

I tried to use CodecControl with another PC (Lenovo Laptop IdeaPad w. W10), but problem still exist. In both PCs USB driver (USB-miniEVM) is loaded automatically by the system. Is it OK? With the USB-miniEVM driver the DFUTEST don't detect the EVM in USB port.

Hello Vesa,
I have had the same issue (PC w. W10, language is German and German keyboard settings). Changing the decimal delimitter from '.' (dot) to ',' (comma) in the advanced configuration of the Region (Windos 10) will help.

This was very helpful to me. In my Region setup (Finnish keyboard) I changed decimal delimiter from ',' (comma) to '.' (dot).
