How to Shutdown TLV320AIC3106's HPRCOM and HPLCOM Output?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3106

Hi Sirs,

Would you please advise how to disable (shutdown) the AIC3106's HPRCOM and HPLCOM output? My client connect those signals tp system GND which drains huge leakage current. We need a workaround to solve this problem.

Thank you and Best regards,

Wayne Chen

  • Hi, Wayne,

It is necessary to configure the HPRCOM and HPLCOM for a capless configuration ( http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tlv320aic3106.pdf#page=38 ).

You need to configure Page 0 / Register 14 / Bit D7 as '0' (Programs high-power outputs for capless driver configuration). Then, configure HPLCOM as VCM output (Page 0 / Register 37 / Bits D5-D4 as '01') and HPRCOM for external feedback with HPLCOM as VCM output (Page 0 / Register 38 / Bits D5 - D3 as '100').

    Additionally, I would recommend to enable short-circuit protection with Page 0 / Register 38 / Bits D2 and D1 as '1'.

For more detailed information about the TLV320AIC3106 registers configuration, please take a look at the following document:
